How food affects your emotions

I came across an article recently that discussed how food is known to directly influence consciousness and feelings. According to the author, vegetarian yogi, specific food choices can directly induce strong emotions and specific states of mind such as bliss or anger, contentment or restlessness.

Knowing which foods to eat for your desired emotion could prove useful huh?

I think most of us would readily accept that foods belonging to the "Eat Less" group are: Processed, canned, frozen, foods containing preservatives, chemical additives, artificial flavors and colors, and reheated and deep-fried foods. These foods consume large amounts of energy while being digested and are believed to create antagonistic feelings. The body feels heavy, and the mind unfocused and uninspired. So I guess you want to know what you should be eating right?...

The majority of all fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lentils, beans, nuts and seeds, therapeutic spices, herbs, milk and natural sweeteners sound healthy but from a yoga viewpoint are in fact believed to THE major foods above all else, to be consumed for true health.

Yogis are also vegetarian so the role of non-meat, not-dairy protein is interesting as most people also tend to think that soy products are a good, healthy substitute but I find it interesting to see exactly where on the list this author put the soy products...

We all need a little spice in our life! Apparently you can select food to generate excitement, fantasies, sensuality, sexuality, and the energy we need to accomplish, create, and achieve. Apparently, these same foods however, also generate ambition, anger, greed, lust, and egotism so we need to carefully balance our intake. So what are these foods? Our favourite stimulants such as onion and garlic, tea, coffee, tobacco, soda, chocolate, and refined sugars, but also some lentils, chickpeas, soybeans; hot spices such as chillies and even black pepper.

And there is the soybeans!

If this interests you, maybe do some more research on the lifestyle of yoga. Yoga food is vegetarian. I prefer to get my protein from meat personally, but it's interesting to know about connections between food and feelings! I hope you find this interesting!
Some wish for it, others work for it!
