I saw a post on the Impossible to Possible facebook page today that made me say I'd like to "run a marathon".

I have NEVER said this before today. It is the last thing I'd like to do, but interesting when asked the question today, "What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?", it was what come to mind instantly.

I guess I should give you the tip that today my morning run resulted in knee pain that made me stop as it seems my rehab of the ITB is not working. I have been diligently following the sports specialists program to get me running again for the past 6 weeks and have been able to comfortably get up to 25minutes. However today was different. I took a few gentle stretch stops, but I knew to stop completely at 3.9km. Bugger not even that last 100m could be done. I walked home the final 1km because today I was aiming for 5k. I am sitting at my desk today with a big ice-pack wrapped around my knee feeling very sad.

So, when I opened Facebook today and read the post on the Impossible to Possible page that asked "What would you attempt if you knew you couldn't fail?" There was only one answer I could give.

Funny what dreams we make when we can't do things we used to do.
I do enjoy the feeling of endurance running. But I am giving up on myself as a runner now. For the past 11mths I have tried everything and keep getting knocked down. It's killing me inside.

Meanwhile, I am seriously thinking of pulling out of Albany Half. It's just 7 weeks away and I cannot see how I am going to run 21km after the swim and ride, when I can't even run a fresh 5km. Someone send me some new legs please!!!!
Some wish for it, others work for it!
