The Night Before the Race

Well it is the night before the race and I am back in my room having just had dinner. I went to the special pre race pasta meal held in the conference room at the resort. I think I should have not eaten the pavalova desert but hey what the heck.

I finished the book I bought at the airport just after lunch today so that kept my mind occupied for exactly the right amount of time and if my efforts are anything like that of the
main character in the book then I will be in for a great race.

We have been registered and briefed my number is 552, we have been told the swim should be with the current however we are to have a monster low tide and this will make a 350+ mtr run to transition plus there is an almost cliff to run up to get off the beach. Ah such is life, I am still confident of a good race time and if the current is good and I can shave a few mins off the swim that will be a good start. We will know in about 12hrs.

I have prepared my race food and drink bottles so I am all ready. I will be off to bed shortly and will be up at about 5:20 to head to the restaurant for my pre race muesli at 5:30, then back to the room to collect my stuff and head over to transition for setup. We need to be in a race briefing at 7am and then we start the 1.7km walk to the start line. My wave is 8:27am.

I will not be writing again before the race as I need to divert my attention to the task ahead. So that is it I will update you all when the race is run.
