Yanchep Lagoon (or as the locals say "
The Lagoon), is a picturesque and
well appointed beach facility in
Yanchep. The water is always calm due to protection from a rockshelf that forms a protective "lagoon" between the ocean and the sand which is perfect for
young children. Snorkelling is also popular here as you can safely snorkelling alongside the edge of the rockshelf which runs parallel to the shore only 50m out. At very low tide
the rock shelf is exposed and you can stand on it. During higher tides the top of
the rock shelf is just submerged but you can sit on it to rest and have your head above water.
The beach is patrolled by lifeguards during summer.
Parks, grass, playground,
public toilets, and a small takeaway kiosk/
shop serving food and drinks is available. Plenty of
parking.
