Edition 8: 30th November 2011

Hi TriathlonOz Reader and welcome to our November newsletter.
Since our last issue, many new people have registered to our website, so hello and welcome to you! Please pop into the Forum and start a new post to introduce yourself, ask a question, make a comment.

Our new registered visitors have come from all corners of the country, so whilst we are currently out and about locally promoting the brand through various channels (events, clubs, Ironman WA fundraising events, WIT course etc), we are also actively advertising in the major triathlon and multisport magazines. For regular readers of Australian Triathlete, make sure you look out for our discount coupons in each edition for the summer season!

Member Snapshots

A big part of the fun of TriathlonOz is reading other people's stories. Here's a quick profile on 3 inspirational Members currently sharing their journeys towards a major challenge. If their blogs touch you, why not leave them a comment of encouragement? They'd love to get your support!

Meet Baz (The Landy):- when this corporate financer from Sydney gets out of the office he heads for the wilderness! He's training for the world's premier multi-sport event - the Speight's Coast to Coast in New Zealand (February 10-11). This 6 stage, multi-day, multisport event traverses the South Island from the Tasman to the Pacific - 243km across the Southern Alpine, cycling, mountain running and grade two river kayaking. Baz's blog is here, includes video!
Meet Jenny:- She's about to front up to her first Ironman distance event this weekend in Busselton, Western Australia. This busy mum has 3 young kids, holds down a job, and shares her passion for Ironman with her husband, who is also training for his first Ironman! Whilst she had a weight problem 5 years ago, that's well behind her now and she's a capable age-group triathlete with some serious determination. Catch up with her story in the 9 blogs she has written describing her journey to doing her first ironman. Warning: you're in for some laughs, she's a fabulously witty writer with a quirky outlook on life. Jenny's Blog is a refreshing read that is sure to make you smile - get started here.
Meet Fiona:- This lady loves life and people but especially running, and whilst she has numerous marathons, half marathons and half ironman distance triathlons under her belt, nothing compares to this weekend's Ironman in WA, which will be her first full Ironman distance triathlon. She has 3 teenagers and her blogs include the ups and downs and woes of an active working mum juggling to keep her life in balance. Her "can do" attitude and positive energy will inspire you. Fiona's Blog is here, and with 19 entries, she provides tons of inspirational reading!

Where are the WITs?

10 WA female Members joined TriathlonOz this month through a promotion we offered through the Women in Triathlon (WIT) course run by North Coast Tri Club. We're expecting they'll be sharing all their new-found discoveries and tales of achievements with us soon (yes, ladies, that's a big hint)..

This system grows and evolves naturally throught he contributions of the industry so its as good as the input you make. Please feel welcome to use this service.
