Busselton 2011 - Ironman 70.3 Triathlon
This year I've prepared specifically for this race and sitting here with just the lingering pains in my legs to remind me that I did it, I know I must reflect on the journey that brought me here and to savor the moment of the finish, so what better way than to write my blog and share it with you.
The race field consisted of a total 1435 competitors, of which 383 were women, 1052 men. The average race time was 5:33:02, the fastest course time was 3:51:28 and the slowest was 8:04:52.
Crossing the finish
My total race time was 5:35
I raced in the Female 40-44 category with 58 competitors. I placed 13th.
Swim: I placed 7th
Bike: I placed 2nd
Run: I placed 31st
Finish Time: 5:35
I could not have done any of it without the encouragement, support, mentoring, and regular advice from my wonderful husband David who I love so much. You are an inspiration to me darling. I thank you for letting me join in on this crazy obsessive sport but I hope you realise I love sharing this with you. I hope we can continue to do these
events for a few more years yet.
